Woelker

In Loving Memory

Woelker, Michele (nee Burquin)

August 31, 1955 - November 1, 2025

Michele Woelker, beloved mother of Kyle (Elise) Woelker, Kirsten Woelker and Kendra (Joe) Scanio; adoring grandmother of Arthur Woelker; dear sister of Kathy (Ken) Belding, Bryan Burquin and the late John and Danny Burquin. A loving aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Those who knew Michele knew her life was centered around family, home, and creating spaces filled with love. Michele had a remarkable gift for making any space feel like home. Her talent for home décor and eye for detail turned her house into a warm, welcoming haven filled with love, laughter, and comfort.

A creative spirit at heart, Michele loved crafts, cooking, and creating moments that brought people together. Her famous recipes were the center of countless family gatherings, and her thoughtful touches made every holiday and birthday unforgettable. She had a beautiful way of ensuring everyone felt cared for, included, and special; a reflection of her generous heart and selfless nature.

Michele lit up every room she entered with her bright smile and infectious energy. She radiated kindness, showed love to everyone she met, and always put others before herself. Above all, she loved her family fiercely and found her greatest joy in being a mom and, most especially, a grandma. Though her time as a grandmother was far too short, the love she poured into that role will be cherished forever.

Her happy place was the beach, where she could simply be present and soak in the beauty of the moment. If given the chance to travel anywhere, she would choose Gulf Shores, surrounded by her kids, the sound of the waves, and the sun on her face. Michele lived life to the fullest, finding joy in everyday moments and spreading that joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Michele will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her unwavering love, and her ability to make life’s simplest moments feel extraordinary. She will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday, November 15 from 11:00 am until Funeral Service time at 2:45 pm. Inurnment at Lakewood Park Cemetery will be held in private.

  1. This describes the Michele I knew to a tee! What a sweetheart. We all loved her at Edward Jones. I can hear her laughing now. When I get to heaven I’m going to give her a huge hug. Indeed, her family was foremost in her heart and I never received a text from her that wasn’t accompanied by a picture of her grandson. Rest in peace, dear Michele!! We love you.

She was such an amazing listener and spent many a lunchtime being my counsel and confidant. Such a jewel who quietly and completely cared about everyone, especially her children. 9. Michele was a beautiful lady inside and out. Many days we had lunch together and sometimes a dinner. She always had a big ole hug for me and we never parted without saying, I Love You, no matter if it was a text, phone call or in person. Whenever she would come to the house she would bring me something but always had to give my husband Steve something too. So kind and considerate and one of the best friends you could ever have. Her smile always lit up a room, she will be deeply missed. My condolences to her family and I know she reached Angel status, so she will keep a watch over us and especially Arthur, her pride and joy.

  10. Our dear sweet Michele. I’m at such a great loss for words –. I am so incredibly sad that you have been called home much too early. God must have some big plans for you!
As humble as she was, Michele would think this tribute was a little over the top, but it describes her so perfectly. Michele was all of this and more. Loved by so many and so very special.
To Kyle, Kirstin & Kendra, please know if your hearts that she was extremely proud of each one of you and loved you more than anything. She spoke of you often with such pride.
I will miss her sincerity, positivity, her laugh, advice and let’s not forget her sassiness too, but most of all her friendship.
p.s. Michele – I hope your don’t run into any flying chickens in Heaven! XOXO

  11. Michele was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a great friend and always did so many things to make everyone feel special, no matter what the occasion. Our birthdays were always a special time to get together and celebrate. I’m so glad we were able to go out and celebrate those times together and all the girls nights out we shared over the years. Most of our conversations were about our children and our families. Michele loved her kids and was so happy talking and sharing stories about them. I will miss you terribly my friend and I love you. Until we meet again, I’m sure heaven just gained a special Angel.
