Wood, John S., baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on September 7, 2025.

Beloved husband of Diana M. Wood (nee Misel) for 45 years; loving father of Darla (Stephan) Wood, John (Sharon) Wood, Dan (Tina) Adams, Gary (Michelle) Adams, Denise (Ernest) Brockman and Matthew (Michelle) Adams; cherished grandfather of Lindsey (Sharjeel), Garrett (Jessica), Wyatt, Zachary (Kimberly), Benjamin, Michelle (Tim), Travis, Sarah, Nicole, Brent, Ernest “Trey” (Danyela), Elijah, Lillian, Abigail, Sophia and Seth and great-grandfather of Danica, Chase, Braden, Naailah, Aiyanah, Ezra, Lucas, Jameson and Esther.

John was a Proud U.S. Marine, A U.S. Naval Reserves Retiree, member of VFW #2593, Cooties, American Legion, Amvets, Knights of Columbus, Navy Seabee Vets and MMC.

Services:  Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Thursday, September 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Fenton. Interment with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  1. Diana, my dear dear friend and neighbor of over 35 years, please know of my sympathy and many prayers for you. I’m sure John is in heaven giving all the angels and saints sweet goodies like he did Fr Callahan and Fr Scott. Much love to you!! Diane Williams

  4. Was so sorry to hear this, John was always one of my favorites up at our VFW Post. Wish I could have seen more of him the last few years. He was the source of much fun and laughter! Big hugs to you, Diane, and your whole family.
