In Loving Memory – Shirley Mae Wood (nee Kiderlen) aged 91 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her home in St. Louis MO. She was born March 9, 1933 in Rhineland MO and raised in Hermann MO. Shirely was the loving wife of the late Lowell M. Wood for 70 wonderful years prior to his passing in October 2022. Shirley was the only child of the late Blanche Kiderlen (Theissen) and late Walter G. Kiderlen. She was the granddaughter of the late Alvin & Sophie Theissen (maternal) and the late Fritz & Sadie Kiderlen (paternal). She was a loving mother and is survived by daughter Lisa L. Lynch (husband Gene), son Paul L. Wood (wife Juli) and daughter Victoria L. Korhammer (Dylan Pritchard) Shirley was a beloved grandmother and had 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Anna Korhammer, Sara Korhammer, the late Britni Wood and William Tyler Wood. She was an aunt, great aunt and friend to many. Shirley loved to travel, garden, was an avid reader and an excellent cook and baker. Her yearly Christmas cookies were eagerly anticipated and enjoyed. Her quick wit, sense of humor, loving demeanor and smile will be greatly missed. Her memory will be deeply cherished as she was truly loved. John 3: 16 and John 11: 25-26 were Bible verses she held dear and were at the core of her faith. Our loss is heaven’s gain, but we rejoice and trust that we will be with her again one day!

  4. Aunt Shirley was a lovely person with a great sense of humor. She always made my mom, Janet Wood, feel comfortable as an in-law and helped her navigate the big wood family. She was sweet to everyone and always said nice things to me and my sisters. She will greatly missed.
