“Matthew Roland Zahn was a hardworking, successful IT Engineer providing senior level support for 40 years at Southwestern Bell, AT&T, and other large corporations within the US and globally. In his free time, Matt spent close to a decade performing in the Seven Holy Founders Choir, volunteered as a volleyball coach, and was the chairman of the Founders Picnic Hamburger Booth for many years. He loved playing poker with his friends on Friday nights and enjoying a nice glass of wine with his wife at wineries. Some cherished memories of him from his family are games nights, watching movies, and going on family vacations. Matthew adored his three grandchildren and was passionate about his role as “Papa.” He was so loved and missed by many.”

  25. My high school memory was that of Matt being brilliant and a super nice guy. I have prayed the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi in honor of Matt and for the well being of those he left behind. This was the daily prayer for all Vianney students.

I always like talking to him every time I got to see him at Zahn family parties, or at Barger family parties, soccer games, or anywhere else. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace. I have a few family members up there who will help take care of him. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

  43. Sorry, belated condolences, I just read this in the 2323 Vianney Black & Gold Magazine. I remember Matt from Grade School as quiet, kind, and also the smartest kid in our class. Traits he continued in High School. I’m sorrowed to hear of his much too early passing. Godspeed Matt.
