Erxleben

In Loving Memory

Erxleben, Rosella Fay

Rosella Fay (Conway) Erxleben  July 14, 1932 – January 1, 2025

Rosella, daughter of the late Rosie Emeline Laxton Conway and William Joseph Conway was born at Rat, Missouri, on July 14, 1932. She departed this life in her home in Saint Louis, Missouri, on January 1, 2025, at the age of 92.

On February 19, 1950 Rosella was united in marriage to Stewart Howard Erxleben and to this loving union two daughters and a son were born. Stewart preceded Rosella in death on March 2, 2019. Rosella enjoyed raising her three children while first working at Concordia Publishing House in Saint Louis.  Later she worked in the catalog department at Sears and due to her sales skills was asked to move to appliance sales, where she quickly became their best sales person.  She loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who still talk about how exciting and wonderful Christmas time was in her home.  Rosella loved the Lord, which showed in the way she treated and helped so many in need, always with a positive outlook on life.  She loved many passages in the Bible and was especially intrigued by the Book of Ruth, which depicted strong & resourceful women, as well as loyalty to family.  It is no wonder why she related to Ruth.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter – Marsha Mieras, daughter-in-law – Sandy Fogerson Erxleben, two great grandson’s – Cole and Brayden, four brothers, Willard, Cecil, Teddy and Dearl Conway, and five sisters, Virginia Foster, Vada Grogan, Sada Anderson, Pauline White and Wilma Widger.

Rosella is survived by her daughter – Christine Herpers, son Jim Erxleben, seven grandchildren, Danya Michael and husband Tom, Matt Erxleben, Tricia Nelson and husband Matt, Kim Sult and husband Ira, Tracy Castleberry and husband Phillip, Aaron Franke and wife Nicole and Amanda Robison, sixteen great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ian, Claire, Paige, Travis, Josh, Kate, Owen, Emma, Ethan, Savannah, Olivia, Brynlee, Kayla, Allison, and Nathan, sister Juanita Patterson and husband Lee.  All will mourn her passing.

    • Shawntil, you have been a cherished blessing for our Mom, one we shall never forget. I walked in on you two several times over the years laughing and telling stories, so incredibly beautiful. Our heartfelt thanks for caring for Mom the way you did these past six years. God bless you and the work you do.

  2. Shawntil,
Mandee and I couldn’t have cared for Mom without your help. Thank you for supporting us as well as taking care of Mom’s needs in the mornings. Your ex ordinary care-giver. We will miss you terribly but we realize you are meant to be with the next lucky person in your care.

  3. Jim and Christie,
Texas is too far to travel but I was with ya’ll today. Deannie, Dan’s wife, sent pictures of all the cousins. So good to see everyone. Aunt Rosella was a wonderful person. I thought of her so much but I am not good at talking on the phone or writing messages. My heart and my prayers are with you both. You were so good to your mom. She is in God’s hands now. Love you both. Nancy
