  2. I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I’ve known your sweet Sarah for almost 30 years, so I know the person you had to be to raise a daughter like her.

  4. The closeness and love in Joy’s children for each other is a true testament to a life well lived. Sarah is one of the most beautiful young ladies both inside and outside for the many years I have had the pleasure of knowing her. Rest in peace with your beloved Edward.

  5. May GOD be with your family at this time of need. It was a pleasure taking care of Joy. How blessed was she to have a daughter such as Margaret who went above and beyond for her mother. We will miss your calls/emails. 🙂

  6. Dear Rock family,
My sincere condolences with the passing of Joy. She was very special!
I visited your parents from Utrecht, Holland several times, and met many of you as well. It was always a real, real pleasure.
One thing I’d like to share with you. I’m a Red Sox fan and let me put it diplomatically, Joy was not very fond of the Sox. One year when I visited your parents, I wore my Red Sox shirt when I rang the bell. Joy opened and when she saw my shirt, she closed the door letting me standing outside. Of course I was welcome after all.
As a ‘punishment’ she gave me a 2006 World Series Champions cap. I promise to wear it tomorrow! BTW, me being a Red Sox fan did not prevent me from going to a couple of Cardinals games….
I wish you a lot of strength tomorrow and my thoughts will be with you.
    Dutch regards,
    Theo van Geffen.

  7. Dear Rock family:
Our prayers are with you at the passing of Joy. Ed and I were both Weasels, but not in SEA at the same time. I did see Ed at several conventions, and am sure I met Joy, also. However, our families were never stationed together. Now this exceptional fighter pilot’s wife has flown West to be with her special husband.
    Together again for eternity.
