Dear Debi,
I must have missed the announcement of your mom passing on 2016. I am so sorry. But I caught your dad’s today. Wow -two Christmas time deaths, yet, how cool that they called each other home. My parents did the same in December 2006, dying eight days apart.
Your dad was a very special guy!
You, your siblings (including Ralph), spouses, children and grand children are in our prayers. I THINK Ralph’s death was the last time we connected. I would like to change that. I will get in touch very soon.
Due to the Covid-19 we are not going out even to our own Church, so we will not be at the funeral service. Hopefully our country will be in safer territory by Summer. I’d love to see you.

I had the privilege to meet Norman through St. Anthony’s Hospice. I followed him in bereavement after the death of his wife, Marie. I would visit him at home prior to his admission to Laclede Groves. Then I began visiting him there.
We had nice bereavement visits and he missed those in-person bereavement visits during the pandemic. I spoke to him regularly to check in on him. Your dad was a special individual to many people. He would reminisce during our bereavement visits about his wife, Marie and his family memories.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Your Dad and my Dad (Clifford Onder) were good friends in high school and flew model airplanes together in their youth. They also both worked at Liaster Kauffmann Aircraft building gliders for the military while in high school during WWII. My Dad would pick your Dad up in his Model A Ford and carpool to work. I went to several local aviation events with my Dad and your Dad years ago and always enjoyed your Dad’s company. They used to keep in touch until several years ago after my Dad got dementia. They are both gone now but we can be thankful for the time we had–they were truly the “Greatest Generation”.
