Darrell Butler
75, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 following a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Esther Butler, sons Christopher Butler and Bradford {Kristen} Butler, and grandson Brice. Sisters Debra Potts [David], Georgia Winchester, Brenda Richardson [Rusty] and many nephews, nieces and many friends.

He was born in Portageville, MO and moved to Saint Louis as a child. After graduating from McKinley High School in 1964 and later attended respiratory therapy school at Forest Park Community College. He honorably served in the Air Force then he worked as a pulmonary lab technician at Washington University for most of his career.

Darrell was a man of faith and served at both Lafayette Park Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Arnold. This service includes many roles including bible teacher, deacon, sunday school director, and royal ambassador leader. Additionally, he also led a cancer support group where he used his personal experiences to help others cope with illnesses. His interests included hotwheel collection and coin collecting. He also spent many hours watching birds and growing flowers around his home.

Services: Visitation at First Baptist Church of Arnold on Tuesday, February 15, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 16 at First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  15. Darrell was a dear friend and coworker with our Royal Ambassador boys ministry at First Baptist Arnold for several years. My condolences to Ester and the family. I know Darrell is in the presence of his Lord today. Praise God.

I know you’ll miss him something awlful the good memories will crowd out all the bad. May the lord keep you and the boys and my other sisters by a different mother I love them in his living arms while your all going thru this
