In Loving Memory

DeMarea, Peter L

Peter L DeMarea, 51, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherri (Jackson), two sons (Matthew, 18, and Adam, 10), mother Carol “Becky” DeMarea, sister Diana Fowler, David & Barbara Jackson (father-in-law, mother-in-law), Tim & Lisa Jackson (brother-in-law, sister-in-law), Ryan & Libby Brown (brother-in-law, sister-in-law), nephews Powell Fowler, Zak Brown and Luke Jackson, nieces Greyson Fowler, Grace Jackson, Halle Jackson, Avery Jackson, Zoe Brown, Mia Brown, Izzy Brown and Kate Brown. He also had family in Kansas City; his Uncle Mike and Aunt Donna, along with cousins Andy (wife Tracey) and Brad (wife Christina). His father, Lawrence DeMarea preceded him in death.

Pete was born in Kansas City, MO and received his Bachelors in Accounting from Kansas State University, and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) shortly thereafter. He held positions at Coopers & Lybrand, KPMG, Charter Communications, Spectrum Brands, CenturyLink, ResourceOne, Behrmann, and most recently, Tarlton Corporation. A big portion of his life was spent helping others.  Pete was an active Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, and served on the Board of Directors at Harris House Treatment and Recovery Center since 2007.  He lived out his faith in Jesus Christ by investing his time in those that needed it most. Their family has attended First Evangelical Free Church in Ballwin for 25 years.

He loved playing guitar, listening to 80’s hair metal, coaching his sons’ baseball teams, and spending time with his family and three dogs. Most people will remember his contagious laugh and joke telling – he was always fun to be around!  He will be sorely missed by not only his friends and family, but also those that he positively influenced over the years.

Services: Visitation, August 24 at First Evangelical Free Church (1375 Carmen Rd) in Ballwin, 4:00pm-6:00pm with Memorial Service immediately following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Harris House Treatment and Recovery Center.  www.harrishousestl.org
