  1. Jim was a very close friend of mine for over 30 years going back to the days when we both worked at Peabody Coal in St. Louis. I’ll always have fond memories of discussions with Jim about politics, sports, history and his favorite topic – horror movies. These occurred at lunches (with coworkers at Peabody, then later with our good friend Henry) and in phone conversations. Among Jim’s character traits were generosity and care and concern for family, friends, coworkers and the students he taught.
    Rest in peace!

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Jim in the early 1980s while in the internal audit department at McDonnell Douglas. His academic prowess and tenacity were balanced with his sense of humor and kindness. I’ll always remember how he helped me out when I was the new person in the group. Jim was a straight shooter and funny as hell. He was a true friend, not just a co-worker. My condolences to his family for the loss of a really great guy.

  3. Jim was a kind and generous man who will be missed. He had wonderful sense of humor and delighted in telling his nephews amusing (and borderline absurd) stories with a uniquely dry delivery so that we could never quite tell whether they were real or imagined. May his memory be a blessing.

  4. Cousin Jimmy was always fun to be around. Also known as the “President” of the “Hello Kitty Club” we had many fond memories. My parents would take us to St. Louis to visit and he would always take us to Build-a-Bear along with Cardinals games. Many great family memories! He will be missed. Sending love and prayers❤️
