In Loving Memory

Hancock, Yvonne C

July 10, 1929 - February 27, 2025

Yvonne C Hancock

95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27th, 2025 in Saint Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John C Hancock Jr. She was the loving mother of Randy (Brenda), John III (Darla), Glenn (Cindy), Bruce (Star) and Scott (Bonnie). She was a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Yvonne was born in Saint Louis. Her family moved to Maeystown, Illinois for about 7 years and shared many cherished memories from her upbringing there. She returned to Saint Louis in 1938, attended Holy Cross Lutheran School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1946. She met her future husband, John, shortly after he had joined the Marines. They proudly enjoyed a military lifestyle for 20 years. After retiring from the military, they moved to Fenton, MO to continue raising their family, before finally settling in Scotsdale, MO. Yvonne enjoyed bowling, gardening, meeting with the Holy Cross Girls, watching birds and other wildlife roam through their yard, writing the annual Hancock Christmas Letter, and always stood for the Marine Corps Hymn when it was played. She often thanked the Lord for being so blessed. She will be missed by all.

Services: A public Visitation will take place at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63129) on Monday, March 10th, 2025 from 9:30am until the time of service at 11:30am. 4. I was missing you all at music time at DGS and just learned of your mother’s passing. I will always think of her when I hear the Marine hymn. It was a joy to watch you all interact, playing cards and joking. You were always smiling and laughing and the love you all shared was evident. God bless you all, Yvonne will be missed!
