Travis (“Trav” “Travbo”) Hanrahan, died February 19, 2017. He was born in St. Louis on June 22, 1989 to Joseph and Patsy Hanrahan, who survived him. Travis graduated from CBC High School, attended Webster University and Meramec Junior College.
A brilliant actor, he appeared in lead roles in high school productions of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and MacBeth, and in featured roles in Midnight Company (his father’s theatre group) productions of Orphans, Mass Appeal, Soldier Boy, The Little Frenchy Files, and Apology/Faustus. He was a talented musician and singer, and his hardcore rock group, Pink Sock, was a local favorite that garnered “Best of” recognition from The Riverfront Times. An aspiring writer, he was at work on his first screenplay when he died.
Fiercely independent, intensely loyal, and blazingly righteous in matters he considered just, he brightened the lives of everyone he touched with his unique spirit, energy, creativity, and amiability. He also loved his family very much and was loved very much in return.
Besides his parents, Travis is survived by his brother Peter (spouse Becky, children Poppy and Rosie) and his sister Valerie Palecek (spouse Chad, children Wyatt and Hailey).
No one chooses addiction. It takes many prisoners and leaves a wide path of merciless destruction in its wake.
Services: A gathering to celebrate Travis’ life will be held at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd., Saturday February 25, from 12-3 pm.
To honor Trav’s singular, iconoclastic style, this will be an informal event. Casual clothes, positive words and appreciation for life in all forms is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gateway Pet Guardians, Stray Rescue or the animal rescue of your choice.
Paths and Joe,
My heart goes out to you in this sad time.

our little life is rounded with a sleep.”
