Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on October 25, 2023;  Dear daughter of the late Kyle and Rose Stogsdill, dear sister of the late Donald Stogsdill, beloved wife of the late Charles D. Sum; loving mother of the late Stephanie (survived by Stephen) Gianino, Cynthia (Joseph) Mittrucker, Tracy (Michael) Mahler, Daniel (Judy) Sum, Lisa (Andrew) Bonnot;  cherished grandmother of Dominic (Jackie) Gianino, Rebecca (Matt) Staed, Jenna (Joe) McClary, Jamie (Kyle) Westbrook, Jill Mahler, Jessica Mahler, Aaron Sum, and Kelsey (Mike) Giordano, Hilary (Mitch) Von Hoffmann; great-grandmother of Corrina, the late Mariella, and Luca Gianino;  Connell and Genevieve Staed;  Finley, Josie, Delaney, and Nash McClary; Kennedy and Eleanor Westbrook; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Joan was married to the love of her life for over 62 years.  Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are a testimony of her love of family.

Joan’s adoptive family, the staff of Friendship Village Sunset Hills, gave her joy and comfort in her final year.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Thursday, November 2, at 9:00 am.  11:30 am Mass at Queen of All Saints, 6603 Christopher Dr.  Interment at J.B. National Cemetery
