In Loving Memory

Juergens, Robert A. “Bob”

August 7, 1942 - February 22, 2025

Robert Anthony “Bob” Juergens passed away on February 22nd, 2025.  He was a beloved husband of 56 years to Florence “Fluffy” Agnes Juergens (nee Keena).  A loving father to Robert (Debbie) Juergens, Timothy (Helena) Juergens, Chris Juergens, Mary Winkeler, Margaret (Kevin) Holliday, and Michael (Jacqueline) Juergens.   Devoted grandfather to Timothy (Abigail), Ryan, Daniel, Benjamin, and Thomas Juergens, Katherine, Timothy, Caroline and Matthew Juergens, James, Evelynn, and Allison Winkeler, Eleanor, Josephine, and Theodore Juergens. Proud great-grandfather to William Juergens. Dear brother to Susan (Henry) Steinlage, Carol (Gerald) O’Keefe, and Stephen Juergens.   He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Loretto Juergens, sister Carol O’Keefe, and Brother-in-law Gerald O’Keefe.  Bob was a treasured brother-in-law to Sr. Agnes Keena, BVM and Sr. Marianne Keena CSJ. He was a caring uncle, great uncle, and friend to so many.

Bob was born August 7th, 1942 and grew up in St. Louis, MO.  He was a 1960 graduate of St. Louis University High School.  He went on to graduate from St. Louis University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and later received his Masters in Business Administration from Fontbonne.   Fluffy and Bob’s first date was when they attended a friend’s wedding.  After they exchanged their first and forever “I love yous” on St. Patrick’s Day, then exchanged their forever “I dos” when they married on June 21st 1968.

Bob’s true passion was ensuring that all around him experienced Joy.  He loved to take family vacations, play games with his kids and grandkids, and play pranks on others.  Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Outer Banks, and Colorado were some of his favorite places to take his family.  His love and support for his children knew no bounds. He dedicated himself to nurturing and encouraging them through every challenge and triumph, always offering a listening ear and a helping hand. His unwavering belief in their potential inspired them to chase their dreams and instilled in them the values of kindness, resilience, compassion, generosity, and hard work. The countless sacrifices he made and the countless moments he shared will forever be cherished and remembered. With Bob, you always knew you were loved, which allowed you to love others.  His laugh, smile, and energy were contagious to all around him and being in his presence often brought out the best in people.

Bob embodied the spirit of a True Man for Others. His devotion to helping those in need was evident in the countless hours he volunteered in so many places, including where he dedicated his time to assisting individuals with their taxes.  This work was not just a duty for Bob; it was a calling that reflected his genuine compassion and desire to uplift his community.

A devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Bob found joy and purpose in his faith, always eager to lend a helping hand within the parish family. His involvement enriched the lives of many and forged lasting connections with fellow parishioners.

Professionally, Bob spent an incredible 39 years with Boeing, where he found great fulfillment in his work, often saying he “got paid to play.” His enthusiasm and dedication shone brightly throughout his career, and he cherished the friendships he built along the way.

Bob’s legacy of kindness, integrity, generosity and JOY will forever be remembered and continue to flourish through all the people he has touched and inspired.  He is survived by his loving wife Fluffy, their children, grandchildren, and a community that will miss his warm smile and selfless spirit.

A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home at 5255 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis, MO 63129 on Thursday, February 27th 4pm-8pm.  A memorial mass to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Friday, February 28th at 10am at  Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 1919 S. 7th St.  St. Louis, MO 63104. Internment at Resurrection Cemetery.   In honor of his commitment to service, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with the intended purpose for building the new homeless shelter.

Rest in peace, Bob. Your heart of gold and your passion for others will always inspire us.

Condolences

  8. My father, Bill Emrick, and Bob have been best friends since the age of 5. Both of them incredible men and how impressive that their friendship has endured all of these years. On behalf of the Emrick family, we are so sorry for your loss as Bob brought kindness, compassion, and love to everyone he encountered. Meghan and Mary, I still remember riding to a teen town dance in the back seat of your station wagon with your dad at the wheel. He sped up on ALL the hills and laughed the entire time! I don’t remember a time being around your dad that he wasn’t smiling and laughing. Bob and Fluff have been a staple topic of conversation within Emrick family gatherings as we are always asking how the Juergens are doing. You are an amazing family because of your amazing parents and know that you have phenomenal memories of your father that you will cherish forever. Love and prayers from the Emrick Family.

  17. I met Bob about 15 years ago when he started his volunteer career with the TaxAide program. The training for the tax season starts in November and in the evening when we met for dinner I would frequently find Bob with his ever present note pad updating the list of purchases for Christmas presents for the family. He loved finding the perfect present for everyone and then wrapping them. His kindness and generosity was an example for all of us. My deepest sympathy to Fluffy and the entire family. He will be missed by many.
