In Loving Memory

Kuenzle, Doris M. (nee Reed)

Doris Kuenzle, 94, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of 72 years to Daniel, and a loving mother to her three children, Susan Crewz, David (Dr. Beatriz Currier), and Jan (Ed) Poth. Doris was born in Renault, IL to Eugene and Marcella (Fausz) Reed. At age 17, she moved to St. Louis where she worked as a secretary and an usher at Kiel Auditorium, where she met her husband. They were married in 1951, and raised their children in St. Louis. Doris was a lifelong Catholic and a selfless person who gave of herself tirelessly to her family and friends. She loved to bowl, play cards, and golf, achieving a hole-in-one later in life. She was very close to her sisters, Ermajean Hogan, who predeceased her, and Ann Hazel Stoltz. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for large family gatherings, and especially cherished time spent with her 11 grandchildren. She was blessed to live a long life, where she was able to add 11 great-grandchildren to her family.  All who knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation: Private family visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 3:00 -5:00 at Kutis Funeral Home at 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO.  The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.

  1. To all who knew her we know what a truly exceptional person she was . She had a way of making you feel as if you were the most important person anytime you were around her.
We seldom have the chance to know someone so giving of themselves let alone have them in our family. She was a true gem.
For me she was my guardian angel willing to give of herself when times were difficult. Her love and guidance were priceless and will never be forgotten.
Although we have lost a bright light in our lives, heaven is shining brighter with her presence.
