Anthony “Tony” David Lammert
Tony passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023.
Tony was the beloved husband of Barbara (nee Merschmann), cherished father of Gregory, father-in-law of Kathryn (Wildeman) and grandfather of Adam and Emma, and dear brother of Michael and brother-in-law of Nancy (nee Lammers). Tony was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Stella Lammert (nee Presley) and in-laws Herbert and Mary Ann Merschmann (nee Kalinoski).
Tony was a man of strong faith and kind and generous friend to many. He was an avid golfer, burger aficionado and fan of St. Louis sports teams. A lifelong St. Louis area native, Tony grew up in The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis and lived in Affton, Fenton, and Mehlville. He was a long-time employee of and retiree from Southwestern Bell. Upon retirement, he worked at Greenbriar Hills Country Club and Dierberg’s.
Services: No visitation will be held, as Tony generously donated his body for medical research to St. Louis University. Rather, a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption-Mattese Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Road, St. Louis, MO. The memorial mass will also be livestreamed on the church’s website for those unable to attend. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to a charity organization of your choice in his name, as well as say a prayer for him the next time you play a round of golf or drive by a golf course.

I can still see him running down the soccer field yelling to Andy to get ready. They can play soccer once again in a higher place. Rest in peace Tony. My condolences to Barb and Greg.
So very sorry to hear of Tony’s passing I know his journey was long before God called him home. Rest in knowing that he is in a better place like Tim and FREE of all pain and suffering.

Greg, so sorry to hear this news. Sorry I didn’t hear it sooner. Tony was a very good man and friend just as your mother is a good friend. We wish the best for you and your family and know that your father is now with the Lord and is enjoying his place in Heaven. Once again prayers are with you.
