Beloved husband of Ruby Mae Matlock. Throughout 65 years of marriage he was considered to be the best, most cherished, and rock a wife could ever have.
Dear son of the late William Lee and Estella (Hastings) Matlock; father of Carla (late Craig Gaddis) Mae Matlock-Gaddis, the late Michael Edward Matlock, Dennis (Carla) Lee Matlock, and Timothy Carl Matlock; grandfather of Alexander Harrison Matlock and Ryan Patrick Matlock. Our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Our dad was the most loving, caring, and supportive father. He loved life and his family. He always had a big smile and hello for everyone and loved telling dad jokes.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to any animal organization appreciated.
Carl was always a joy to be around and gave a warm welcome whenever I would see him. He always had a joke ready to go! He will be greatly missed, may he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Ruby, Carla and Denny. I will cherish my memories of Carl. Always with a smile on his face, ready to laugh and a bad dad’s joke at the ready. He was a loving husband and father. And I appreciated how much he loved my brother, Craig, just like one of his own. He will be missed but we will carry his memory in our hearts.
