Murphy, Norma Jean (nee Firestone) born March 9, 1933, passed away Wednesday February 19, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Murphy. Dear mother of Michael (Suzanne) Murphy of Arnold, Mo., Mary A. Murphy of Arnold, Mo., Patricia J. Murphy of Arnold, Mo., Elizabeth Murphy of St. Louis, Mo. and Barbara Murphy of St. Louis, Mo. Dear grandmother of Caitlin J. (Kyle) Clark of Fenton, Mo., Brianne M.  (Jordan) Sanders of Fenton, Mo. and Kaila (Bobby) Miller of Imperial, Mo. Dear great grandmother of Eva Clark, Emmett Sanders, Lillian Clark, Stella Sanders and Anna Clark. Dear daughter of the late Ralph and Eva (Hill) Firestone. Dear sister of the late Charles “Sonny” Firestone, Joan Gentry and Jimmy Dale Firestone Sr. Our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend.

Norma was a dedicated St. Anthony’s Medical Center employee as a surgery scheduler for 25 years.

Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Friday February 28, 9:00 am to St. Bernadette Church for 9:30 am Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of your choice appreciated. Visitation Thursday 5-7 pm.

  4. Out of the blue she popped into my thoughts just the other day. Although we had not been in contact since her retirement I am sorry to hear of her passing. She must have been letting me know.
    Norma was just a voice on the other end of the phone line for many years before I got to put a face to the name. If you needed something you could count on Norma. When she answered the phone she was always pleasant. She was part of a great team of people that made the OR work. I will hold my fond memories of her in my heart forever. Until we meet again old friend.

    • Jean and Bob were our neighbors since 1976. After Bob’s passing we would talk over the backyard fence. Jean had an easy laugh. I know she was a great mom and grandmother. She will be missed here on earth but has a special place in heaven.
