Oberfeld, Linda (nee Mercer)

August 29, 1949 - April 27, 2025

Linda Oberfeld (nee Mercer) passed away on April 27, 2025 at the age of 75.  A native St. Louisian, she attended Beaumont High School and worked for Boatman’s Bank and Servco for many years.  Linda’s family and friends will remember her as a generous and kind person who loved to cook, travel, and play card games.  She often invited friends and family to her home for dinner and she loved to travel with her friends Deborah Sparks Davisson and Zachary Davisson.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Luther Mercer, Audrey Mercer, and Margie Mercer; husbands Gregory Welch and William E. Oberfeld Sr.; brother Darrell Mercer; sisters-in-law Diann Mercer and Delores Mercer; step-brother Frank Umbdenstock; step-children Briana Oberfeld Blair and William Oberfeld, Jr.; and dear friend Myrtress Sparks.

Linda is survived by her fiance William Allensworth; brother Ronald (Sherri) Mercer; step-sisters Sherri (Ronald) Mercer, Beth (Kenneth) Groom, Sharon (Frank) Umbdenstock; sisters-in-law Judy Mercer and Sharon Umbdenstock; stepchildren Beth (Richard) McDonald, Christopher (Emily) Welch, Rema Greiner, Christie Lynch, and Steven (Beth) Oberfeld; nieces and nephews Shaun Mercer, Kimberly Johnson, Kyle Mercer, Tammy Weiler, Heather Spears, Ashley Dann, Jeff Mercer.  Linda will also be remembered by many grandchildren.

SERVICES:  Linda’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on May 24th, 2025 at New Hope Fellowship, 5919 Antire Rd. High Ridge, Mo 63049.  Visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 am and service at 11:30 am.
