Anthony “Tony” Joseph Rivituso, 72, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on December 20, 2024.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Christine (Jim) Van Buskirk, his two sons, Anthony (Jessica Trost), and Andrew Rivituso, dear friend Sandy Windisch Rivituso, his cherished grandchildren, Coleman and Carter Van Buskirk, and Gus Rivituso; his siblings, John (Johnny), Sandy (Denny) Yanko, JoAnn (Jim) Theodorow, and Tina (Mike) Carroll; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Born on January 18, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, Tony was the son of the late John Rivituso and Clara Rivituso. A proud graduate of Cleveland High School, he was known for his love of soccer and football—especially outshining his brother Johnny on the field.
Tony spent many years working at Anheuser-Busch. Later in life, he found his dream job at a driving range, where he took great delight in driving the ball retriever while kids eagerly aimed at him. Known for his sharp wit, playful sarcasm, and a dash of charm, Tony could deliver a perfectly timed insult that somehow left you smiling.
Tony’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and love for BBQing with his family. He also talked often of the friendships and faith he discovered in AA. Through AA, he found a loving community and a renewed relationship with God. He cherished his AA family deeply, and while there are too many names to list, know that he held you all close to his heart.
Tony lived a life filled with humor, love, and a profound ability to connect with those around him. His legacy of kindness and laughter will live on through the many lives he touched.
A Celebration Memorial Mass of Tony’s life will be held on December 26th, 11:30 at Queen of All Saints. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

RIP Tony…always a delight to be with him. Up until just a few years ago we would see each other working downtown at AT&T. We always ended up reminiscing about the old neighborhood…he will be missed. Condolences to his family.
I knew Tony back in high school, even though we didn’t go to the same school. My dad grew up with his dad and uncles in the old neighborhood. Uncle Gus cut my dad’s hair for years. Tony was a good guy, always laughing and making people laugh even back then. God’s blessing to the Rivituso family.
Our Deepest Condolences from our family. Tony was a great guy a fun guy and friend. We will all miss him.
