All of the funniest stories I’ve told my grandkids about my childhood have included Gary. He has always been my “go-to” for fun, for laughs, for help with any project, for support & for comfort. He has given me the gift of a lifetime of cherished memories and, the best gift of all, …the gift of Kay.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Legionnaire Gary Rudolph. I was lucky enough to get to know Gary when he and I were both active in the American Legion Honor/Color Guard. He will be missed by all of us at Post #312 St. Charles.

My brother’s passing has left a planet-sized hole in my heart. But, that said, he has also left us siblings with a beutiful sister, Kay, whom he loved deeply, not to mention our niece, Lindsay (one of my favorite hugs was at the reception of her wedding.) And Kelly and Kevin, from both of you, , speaking for all Gary’s siblings, we carry with us the many happy memories of your childhoods.
As my next oldest brother, I am sure he will wait for me the gates of heaven, and just like when we had our tonsils removed as kids, he will open the door, and say, “You go first, Bob.”
Gary had a deep and ever-present sense of humor that he could use at the right moment, turning worries into giggles of laughter.
To Kay, and all his children, hang in there. We’re all here for you.
