Pat is one of the greatest men I ever met. The love for his family, faith, and friends was beautiful. The laughs and fun are precious moments.
Sharon, you could not have loved him more. He loved those children and grandchildren….knew rhey were gifts!
There is a new baseball coach, golfer, and sports expert in heaven. Those games will be even more exciting.
We grew up hearing endless Pat Ryan stories at the Wessel household – I know Pat and Dad are catching up on all the old times, laughing endlessly, and looking down fondly on us all. God bless the Ryan family!
What a darling man was Pat Ryan. He and my husband became best friends on Humphrey Street when Tom’s family moved there when Tom was in 5th grade and starting at St. Pius School on Grand Avenue.
They had many adventures in their lifetimes, remaining friends forever. Pat and Sharon were godparents to Christopher Patrick, our son, in 1978.
The years passed but even though Pat and Tom lived far from each other, they remained close at heart.
God bless Pat and his family and he and Tom are sure to be having great fun in the realms beyond this.
Will miss you my friend. No more suffering, rest in peace.

We’ll miss Pat very much—-will always remember our son calling him
Mr. Ryan instead of Pat (when our son asked, what should I call you–
he said “Mr. Ryan”, Steven never forgot). Pat, of course, was kidding.
Prayers to the Ryan family, we loved him, too.
A first-class Gentleman. Pat was a very special person and a special friend. He will be missed by many. Condolences to Sharon and entire Ryan family.
So sorry Aunt Sharon and Steve, Greg &chrissie! Love you uncle Pat 🙏🏼 may you rest easy ❤️
Pat was a great Dragons class mate, a great 7UPper, and best of all, a great friend. I’m sure he and Dan Trokey and all of the other Dragons are together having a cold one. That was Pat. Otherwise, he was teeing it up on the first tee. God bless him. He will be missed.
Sharon, Steve, Chrissy, Greg,
I am so very saddened to hear that Pat, (Boss) as Billy always called him has passed. He was a great man and a very special friend to Billy. I know he and Billy are having the best time in heaven talking Baseball. My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. Love to all of you.
Sharon and Family,
Our hearts are with all of you as you mourn the loss of Pat. He was a dear, sweet, funny man and a great friend. We will miss him so very much! The dedication and care you and your family gave Pat during his very challenging time was absolutely admirable and a great witness to all of us.
Love and prayers
It’s hard to leave a short comment on someone who made an impact on so many lives. Pat was my fun-filled Irish friend☘️, coach to our son in baseball, and friendly rivalry of soccer (Bill) vs baseball (Pat) coaching each other’s sons.
We can all share our stories these next few days together, and memories that will last the rest of our lives until we see Pat again.
God bless you Sharon as you begin this new chapter in your life. We appreciate you letting us into your home these past few years to have meetings or just a game night. We all miss him too. 💖
Steve, Chrissy, and Greg, your dad and mom did good. ❤️
Even though we knew Pat many years ago, we really got to appreciate him more as we became closer friends later on. He was a loving, caring, funny and always a trusted and true friend.
Our trips together were very memorable!
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation parties, golfing and game nights will always be wonderful memories in our hearts.
Sharon, you and your kids were beyond helpful to such a fabulous guy. We will truly miss him also. May he Rest in Peace. Love you
Sharon, Steve, Christie and Greg and families, Pat will be missed and I am always thankful to him for introducting me to my husband of 55 years. While working at 7-Up he brought this new hire (Gene) around to introduce him to employees. I was one of those employees and he said “Gup, that’s what Pat called me) I have a husband for you”. He must of known what he was talking about as Gene and I have just celebrated our 54th anniversary. Pat will always have a special place in my heart and to this day, I thank him. Gene and I will miss him greatly and hope he is enjoying heaven as he should. Love to Sharon and what a special person you are and will always be!
So sorry for your loss and sending our deepest condolences to the entire family. I have so many fond memories of Pat as a child. He was always smiling, loved to make me laugh and would carry me on his shoulders after watching softball games. He was a wonderful friend to my Dad and he will be greatly missed by many, I am sure. Praying for peace.
Pat was as fine and kind a gentleman as I ever met. He was always smiling, laughing, and bringing good Spirit to all. One of my favorite experiences with Pat was chaperoning a mixer at Chaminade 30+ years ago–on the tennis courts there. The high schoolers, boys and girls, were rocking out, having a good time, and ignoring the chaperones, with one exception. When Pat, given his considerable physical presence, walked through the throngs of teenagers, it was like the parting of the waters on the Red Sea as in the 1950s movie, The Ten Commandments.
It’s so very hard for us to put into words, how very special Pat Ryan was to us! Not only was he a fun-loving guy, but a great & wonderful friend!, who always had that special smile for everyone!;, especially whenever he talked about his children,, his beautiful wife , & his cherished grankids; his face just “glowed” with pride & love!!
Our deepest sympathy to Shar, Steve, Chrissie , Greg & their families on their loss, & how great they all were in caring for him throughout his difficulties!
We miss him so much, already, & feel so blessed to have had him in our lives for so many wonderful years!! He will be forever in our hearts!
Love & Prayers!
Just heard today and wanted to express my deepest sympathy. Pat was my customer first at Continental Baking and then my coworker at Garlich. So many great memories with him. Blessed to have known him. Love and sympathy to his family.
After reading all of the above, there is not much more I can say except Sharon you were a ROCK to Pat during his illness and I know he will be forever grateful and be at your side spiritually watching over you. Your dear hubby has not left you but is with you in a higher way. You are an inspiration to all of us. Hugs and much love to you, Steve, Chrissie and Greg as you all go through this most difficult time.
Sharon, your faith will “pull” u thru this time of loss
God will grant your family many blessings not only today but in the future….knew he’s at Peace.
May his soul R.I.P
