Phyllis Lee Seevers (née Lathrop) October 22, 1933 – September 5, 2025
Born October 22, 1933 to Forest and Mildred Lathrop (née Shelton) in Wayne City, Illinois. She was the second of seven children and grew up in a small farming community in rural southern Illinois. She grew up poor and helped raise and support her brothers and sisters. Phyllis graduated from Wayne City High school and left Illinois for St. Louis in the early 1950’s. She worked some transitional jobs and later became a flight attendant for Ozark Airlines. In September 1965, she married the late Willam J Seevers and became a stepmother of three children (William, Robert and Sharon). Four years later, they had a son, Brian, and relocated to Bridgeton, MO. After the loss of William “Bill” in 1985, and due to the airport expansion in early 2000’s, she moved to St. Peters, MO. Phyllis was fortunate to have a great network of friends and neighbors. She was a member of Mid Rivers Christian Church, where she attended services for many years. She resided in St. Peters until 2023. At the age of 90, she moved into Sunrise assisted living in Des Peres, where she attended services and continued her faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, three of her brothers and both of her sisters, along with 2 of her stepchildren. She was a loving mom, mother-in-law, stepmother, sister, grandmother, step-grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, friend and neighbor. She will be missed dearly by many.
