  5. Fred, I was hopping you would retire after me in 2020 but you didn’t. You were the nicest man that I ever worked with. Go with god.

  6. My Uncle Fred was a great man. He loved his family, simple things like cooking a meal from a recipe he learned from my grandma, to waxing a car that sometimes had more rust than paint. Most will understand that bit of humor. He simply cherished things.
Collectively, my family has about or a little over a total of 150 years of service to the City of St. Louis. Uncle Fred, my Aunt Robin and I are the last 3. I asked him about retiring a week or so ago, his comment was something like “Soon, but I love the crew I work with I’ll stay a little longer” To his crew at work I’d like to say thank you, he truly cared about you all.

My small family, extended, blood or not, have a void that can never be filled.

    I love you Uncle Fred

  7. Dear Pop,
I want to thank you for being in our lives and for being such a great man. Always there for the good, bad and ugly times and I can not thank you enough for that. You treated my mother like a queen and my son like a prince. You gave us all such great memories. The examples you set will carry on forever, without you I wouldn’t be the man I am. You are the most accountable, dependable, honest and humble man I know! You may be imitated but you will never be duplicated. They only made one like you, you are ONE OF A KIND! Always know I love and respect you just like my own father. I Love You Pop….you are a legend. Until we meet again….rest in peace.
    Love forever,
    John Wicker Jr

  10. My deepest condolences to Fred’s family and his work family at the City of St. Louis. It deeply saddens me that he never got the chance to retire though he loved his work family and spoke of them kindly. If he wasn’t at work he was washing and waxing a car and boy did he do fine detail work! He lived a simple life and took care of those around him. I remember on the weekends he would cook a big meal using old family recipes and make a plate to send to Robin and Eddy. He sure fattened people up. I have so many memories and each one brings a smile to my face. Thank you for being a friend. The world is a little less bright now and you will be missed terribly. Rest in eternal peace Fred.
    Much love- Joan
