Born on March 22, 1935 fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, September 19th, 2025 passed on at the age of 90.

Beloved wife of the late Richard Stieren. Loving mother of Jim (late Debby), John (Dianne), Tony (Bridie), Donna (Spencer Hurst), and Suzanne (David Baer). Adoring Grandmother “Maw Maw” of Megan Stieren (Jim Halbert), Brian Stieren, Joshua Stieren (Alex), Cara Hurst (Nate Borgsmiller), Alex Hurst, Lauren Baer (Matt Bohnert), Natalie Baer (John Bergida), Michael Baer (Therese Galbraith), and Father Mitchell Baer. Cherished Great-Grandmother “Gigi” of Avery and Austin Borgsmiller, Claire, Ben, and Hannah Bohnert, Gus, Monica, Raymond, and Garrett Bergida, and David and Felicity Baer. Carol is the daughter of the late Lestle Burrows and the late Eula (Morman). Carol was a dear aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, godmother, cousin, and friend to many.

Carol and Rich were married at Resurrection Catholic Church in Saint Louis on October 2, 1954 celebrating 66 years of marriage. Carol will be remembered for her loving, supportive, and unconditionally accepting heart. She has a tremendous spirit of hospitality opening her home and warmly welcoming family and friends for countless celebrations. Carol and Rich’s love and hospitality lives on as it continues to be shared daily with all that visit the “Stieren Park and Athletic Fields” (13555 West Watson Road, Sunset Hills, MO).

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the City of Sunset Hills supporting Rich and Carol Stieren’s “Stieren Park and Athletic Fields”, the Society of the Blind, or the Brain Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton (10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123). Carol’s funeral procession will depart Kutis Funeral Home at 9:00 am on Thursday, September 25th. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church (9740 Sappington Road, Sappington MO 63128) at 9:30 AM followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Luncheon will be held at Stieren Park 13555 West Watson Road, 63127. Parking available adjacent to Sunset Hills Athletic Field.
