Cheryl “Cheri” Eileen (Barr) Thomas, 54, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on August 30, 2023, at 12:33 AM (under a super blue moon).
Cheri was born on June 2, 1969, to Edward Eugene Barr (Mary) and the late Sharon (Lohr) Barr in St. Louis, Missouri, and is the younger sister to Edward Barr. After Cheri graduated valedictorian from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1987, she went on to study Finance at the University of Missouri – St. Louis before transferring to the University of Missouri – Columbia. Cheri graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree
in Finance.
Cheri started “working as a waitress in a cocktail bar”, where she met the man of her dreams, Todd Jason Thomas, also known as “That One Guy”. Cheri and Todd married on September 2, 1995. Together, they had three children: Tyler Nelson Thomas (2002), Sydney Lohr Thomas (2003), and Austin James Thomas (2005). After the birth of Austin, Cheri retired from medical sales to become a full-time mom – eventually
being promoted to domestic goddess.
Aside from raising her children, Cheri spent her time as a healer. She loved helping others to better connect to their soul and find their purpose. She was a teacher to many and a bright light that illuminated the lives of all whom she encountered. Cheri often described herself as a unicorn. She was the type of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone – especially strangers on planes. She had the unique ability to get people to open up about their troubles and desires, and no one left a conversation feeling the same as before. Cheri loved to laugh at her own jokes, even when they weren’t funny. Wherever there was music, she could be found dancing her heart out. Through the challenges she faced, she was faithful, resilient, and had an unbreakable spirit. Cheri lived a remarkable life that will be remembered fondly by all.
Service will be held at Faith Church (13001 Gravois Road Sunset Hills, Missouri 63127) on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Pink Ribbon Girls , who were loved by Cheri and supported her throughout her journey.
