I will miss you Aunt Doris. Your laugh, your smile and your memories I have of you just being you.
Doris was my mothers’ lifelong friend, along with 4 other women classmates from Southwest High School class of 1945-46 and their husbands . They called themselves The Club (Doris, Virginia, Ann, Cynthia, Kathleen & Mary) and stayed together for life. They met almost every month at someone’s house and Doris is the one whom I remember most as she and Tom lived close and was a frequent visitor at our house. Doris always had a cheery voice and dispo and we always knew when she was in the house. I think she even could’ve been a cast member on the Golden Girls. Another great american mother from the greatest generation. Psalm 23.
My Dad and Doris were first cousins but as close as brother and sister. Along with Doris’s husband Tom and my Mom Mickey they had fabulous times together. I can still remember the laughter that always surrounded them at parties, weddings, traveling, etc. Doris was one of the few people I knew who always had a smile and kind words for everyone. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and will be remembered by all who knew her. Love to her daughters Vicky and Janice!
Cousin to my grandfather Kenny Quarternik, I grew up knowing Doris at every major Quarternik event. I remember her as one of the main heart & souls of these events. Every time I saw her she had a beautiful smile on her face. Always entertaining everyone with great stories & such a wonderful laugh! Even as a child I remember what a joy she always was to be around!! She was truly loved by everyone, and she will truly be missed! ♥
