Werton-Willis

In Loving Memory

Werton, Willis “Bill” A. Jr.

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sunday June 5, 2022.

Beloved husband for 23 years of Marie Werton; loving father of Stephanie A. Werton, Julie Werton and Tracie Major; loving stepfather of Michelle (Anthony) Iannicola and Kate (Jason) Muckensturm; dear grandfather of Emily Toeniskoetter, Kylie and Damon Major, Bella, Sophia and Dominic Iannicola, Grace and Maisie Muckensturm; dear brother of Pamela (Michael) Dalton; dear son of the late Willis A. Werton Sr and Margaret Werton; dear uncle, cousin and many close friends who were like family to him.

Bill was born January 20, 1948 in Nemacolin, PA. He resided in Pennsylvania and Indiana before making his way to St. Louis. He was passionate about family. Bill was proud of his girls and grandchildren and always shared in their accomplishments. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed a life-long passion for cars and soccer. You could always find him driving around in his ’32 Model T Ford or ’86 Corvette. He enjoyed coaching soccer and later stayed active in the soccer community by refereeing high school games. Because of his love of soccer, he was involved with the Kolping Kicks Soccer Club and a board member of the Catholic Kolping Society. With a generous heart of gold, he never hesitated to help anyone. He never met a stranger. Bill will be missed dearly by so many. Irreplaceable.

Services: Friday, June 10, 9:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive, Fenton, MO 63026. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO. 63123 on Thursday, June 9 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm.

  1. Bill was an awesome person. He was fun to be around & had a great sense of humor. We became closer friends during the last 3 years driving together to all of our high school soccer games. The upcoming soccer season will be very empty without him. I will miss him very much.

  35. Steph, Julie and Tracie, I’m so very sorry for what you are going through right now. Our families go way back to when you were all little kids growing up. Your dad was Amy’s soccer coach, your dad and Jerry were constantly at the soccer and softball fields with you girls. If your dad wasn’t coaching he was in that ref uni. Your dad was always so happy and fun to be around. I know how hard it is for you all right now having been there myself just a few short months ago. All I can say is cherish all the memories and try to laugh a lot when you’re talking about him. There won’t be a day that you won’t think about him. That’s because he’s always with you…you’re part of him. Just celebrate and remember how lucky that he was your dad. Thinking about you all remembering you all in my prayers.❤️ R.I.P. Bill. I know you’re in heaven with all the other great guys.

  39. Our condolences to the whole Werton family. Mr. Werton is such a staple in my childhood memories. Starting with Fenton T-ball for Steph and Brad to reffing soccer games, to coaching me in soccer, I can still picture him and my dad laughing it up at Fenton park. Years later, I enjoyed seeing him around town and up at school watching Em. Seeing him always reminded me of my dad. My heart goes out to you all during this difficult time. Being together, sharing the memories and laughter will hopefully give you all some comfort. I just know he is up there having a laugh with my dad.

  41. Stephanie, Julie, and Tracie, I was so very sorry to hear about your dad. I remember him as always cheerful and smiling–and never at a loss for words. He was enormously helpful to me with my car, going way beyond what anyone else would have done. He leaves behind a legacy of three beautiful daughters and will live on in your children and grandchildren. Remember all the happy times with him.
