John Zeiter

In Loving Memory

Zeiter, John J.

Zeiter, John J. Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Dear father of Lauren (Richmond) Oestricker and Olivia (Allan) O’Brien. Dear grandfather of RJ, Levi, Simon, Gustave, and Arlo. Our Dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.

Jay was born to Gus and Hazel Zeiter (nee Dabin) on February 24, 1959.  After obtaining his GED he went to South County Tech where he completed the program in graphic arts. He was a fiercely loyal friend to many and had many adventures during his life.  He was a certified scuba diver, he enjoyed live music, collecting vinyl albums, and distilling his own top shelf tequila #KOM.  He was an avid animal lover and always insisted that his way was the right way.  He re-discovered his faith later in life and while his departure was unexpected, we trust that the Lord will look after him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17th from 4-8pm, Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 18th at 11:00am at Kutis Funeral Home South County Chapel with burial to follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery.

  2. I am deeply sorry to hear about Jay’s passing. My dad always cherished the incredible friendship he shared with your dad, and I know it will remain in his heart forever. It will be hard coming to St. Louis and not being able to visit him. My thoughts are with everyone who knew him. I can still vividly remember the sound of his laughter when he was on the phone with my dad, Chuck.

  5. My sincerest condolences go out to family and friends and anyone who ever met him. He was definitely an aquired taste, but if you got past that rough exterior you had a friend for life, and he was always there for you no matter what! Words cannot express the void his absence leaves in my heart. Nothing but fond memories! One of the best seasons in my life were the years we spent side by side riding our Harleys. “Thru thick and thin we will ride again”. Love ya Later, my Friend!
