In Loving Memory

Horine, Robert Alexander

was born on April 19, 1931 in Richwoods, Missouri to John and Norma (Fox) Horine. He departed this life on February 18, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Maria (Hansen) Horine, daughter Susan Kay Horine (Thomas) Burns and son Brent Hansen Horine. He has five grandchildren Lindsey Kay Burns (Mårtin) Lindgren, Melissa Ann Horine,  Jennifer Renae Horine (Matt) Annunziata, Thomas Robert Burns, and Ashleigh Elayne Horine. He is blessed with two great-grandchildren Livia Kay and Lucas  Thomas Lindgren. He is also survived by his brothers Jack  Horine and wife Betty, and Wayne and wife Blythe, and brother-in-law Sam Broombaugh. In  addition to his parents, he was  preceded in death by two  sisters, Juanita (Nita Mae) Horine and Norma Joyce  Broombaugh.

Bob graduated from Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy with a mechanical engineering degree. He only had four jobs in his life – farmer, fireman, lieutenant and engineer. He was a First Lieutenant CE in the Army from June 7, 1954 – March 9, 1956. He spent his entire career with Ameren (Union Electric) in the turbine maintenance group. Until Union United Methodist Church closed on June 4, 2017, he was a dedicated member  including Sunday School teacher, usher, and administrative board member.

He was a gentle, giving, caring, servant who was a loyal  country boy. He will be remembered for his patience and  dedication.

In lieu of flowers, He would appreciate a donation to  Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his wife, Elizabeth Horine.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Saturday, February 24, 10 a.m. Interment St. Lucas U.C.C. Cemetery, 11735 Denny Rd. Visitation Friday, 3-8 p.m.
