June Catherine (Dopplick) Karnowski passed away on July 23, 2023 at the age of 73.
June was born and raised in St. Louis. She played Khoury League softball during grade school and high school. June graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1968 and Forest Park Community College in 1971 where she studied Nursing. She worked for many years as a nurse providing skilled and compassionate care to many. June always had a kind, beaming smile.
June truly loved her family, always keeping in touch with those near and far. She never forgot birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays. June’s stationery stockpile contained cards for every occasion. June enjoyed courtroom TV shows, ANYTHING true crime, and soft rock, and she truly adored the written word, always reading numerous books at a time. She had a giving nature, frequently donating to those less fortunate. She managed to find humor in anything and could always be counted on for a good practical joke. June will be missed for doing those “little” nice things that made a big difference in the lives of those around her. June was fiercely independent and took pride in her independence. Her final wish was that her body be donated to a local medical school for the sake of advancing medical research.
June is survived, and will be deeply missed, by her two children, Matt (Tammy) Karnowski and Bart (Amanda) Karnowski; her siblings Tom (Barbara) Dopplick and Rose (Carolyn) Dopplick; her beloved grandson Nelson Karnowski; her nieces Renee (Tom) Dopplick, Annette (Brian) Dopplick and nephew Ken (Caroline) Dopplick; and many loving extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 23rd at 5:30 PM at the St. Louis Police Officers Association (3710 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a friend out for Ted Drewes or send a card in the mail to a loved one.
I am so sorry for your loss. June will truly be missed.
Our deepest sympathies to the Dopplick family.

So very sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort and peace for all of you.
We will truly miss the wonderful and loving letters we have received over the past years, from Aunt June. They are blessings to be treasured. We will miss her but know she lived a full life that touched many people.
Prayers for peace at this time.
