Paul E. Cox, (AKA Gene, Dad, Pocky, Poopaw, Pauley, Coxy) of Imperial, MO went home to be with Jesus on Wed. 2/12/20 at the age of 73. He leaves behind a Fiance, Ginny Busch of Imperial, MO, Four children..Kelly Vester (Steven Vester) of Sikeston, MO,  Jackie Cox, Oakville, MO,  Julie Cox (Ray Thorsten) of Waterloo IL, and Laura Cox of Imperial, MO.   Ten grandchildren, Titus, Caleb, Micah, and Jared Vester, Justin Cox, Savannah Kraus, Jackson Dowler, Jameson Miller, Mia Donaldson, and Henry Thorsten.  Ray’s daughters Taylor, Kayla, and Hailey.  Two great grandchildren, Makhi and Macy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fiance’s children Kimberly Anderson of Imperial, MO, Mike Busch (Shelly Busch) Imperial, MO, and Krissy Buettner, St. Louis, MO, and 4 grandchildren, Cory Busch, Jesse Buettner, Sydney Busch, and Allison Buettner, brother Mack Cox of Hot Springs, AR, (Virda Cox), sisters Marge Barnes (Charlie Barnes) of St. Charles, MO, Deloris Allen, Millstadt, IL, Sue Cox Strutman, Wentzville, MO, and Kathy Clay (Donald Clay), Saulsville WV.  Preceded in death by sister Pauline Blankenship (Wilbur), St. Louis, MO, sister Betty Clay (Henry Clay) Saulsville, WV, sister Jacqueline Cox, St. Louis, MO, brother Johnny Cox, Pineville, WV, and son Mike Rice of Jackson, MO.  He loved laying in the sun, Marilyn Monroe, all the babies, playing guitar and singing, sarcasm, bird watching, wine, changing leaves, all things Hostess, moon pies, chocolate covered cherries, the St. Louis Cardinals, history, and the Civil War.  He could often be heard saying things like “Gimme that before you hurt yourself!”, “You’re burnin daylight!”, “I’m so glad ya got to see me!”, “That’s the second best (insert food here) I ever made!”, “You had the opportunity to be right but you’re wrong!” and “Who loves ya?”.  It didn’t matter what your name was, your middle name would eventually become “Lou Lynn” or “Sue Lynn”. He was the most generous person you could meet, always laughing and making others laugh.  He was a decorated soldier  in the Army from 1964 to 1966 and retired from AT&T. He enjoyed the final years of his life swimming, barbecuing, and hanging out with his fiancé, children, and grandchildren.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Wed. Feb. 19, 10:30 a.m. until service at 12:30 p.m. Interment J.B. National Cemetery.
