  1. Diane was so creative and kind. I looked forward to seeing her at Quilt Guild meetings and retreats. She loved to talk about her family and will be missed by so many. May her memory live on in those she loved.

  3. With our most sincere condolences. We will miss seeing her working in her beautiful garden! Such a talented lady. Her flowers, and her smile, brightened up our street. May God bring you peace.

  7. Diane was the oldest of the “Klein” kids.
Diane, Judy, Nancy and me (Bob).
We were cousins but we as close as brother and sisters.
We grew up together and I mean together,
Holidays, vacations, picnics and weekend skiing.
She could water ski. Not only was she good but she had stamina.
She would ski so long that I thought Uncle Ed was going to cut the ski rope..
We all know Ed and Bob were too cheap to do that so they would just slow down and let her gently into the water.
She is a the oldest of the 4 of us, so she was the ice breaker.
An Ice Breaker is a ship that goes where no other ship will or can go.
Is has a strong motor to propel itself through ice and other obstacles.
Diane didn’t have the strongest heart but she had the biggest.
Diane was the ice breaker in life for Judy, Nancy and myself.

She listened to Peter Paul and Mary. Radical.
She grew her hair long and wore it straight. Radical.
Bell Bottoms and flowery blouses! Dare I call her a hippie?
I would be willing to bet there were a few discussions on her hair and wardrobe but Diane prevailed.
I’m sure being Dorothy’s daughter helped. Strong women come from strong women.
The ultimate ice breaking activity….driving a car.
Ed and Bob were car guys.
But Diane got her license and took off.
I’m sure there were more than a few rules to follow but off she went.
When it was my turn to drive, well, Diane was already driving so why not me.

She was a teacher. She touched the hearts and soles of so many students.
We all have that teacher that was so special to us. Diane was that teacher.
Diane lit up when talking about her students. She cared.

She married an out of work comedian who landed a job as a Park Ranger.
They lived in the most eclectic places. In parks!
Her boys were driving huge tractors when other kids were driving Tonka trucks.
    She has 2 amazing sons.

Diane’s legacy will live on in Myka.

I will close with a comment on how she was a women of faith.
She lived that faith in everything she did.
Her love of Christ poured through her actions and words.
At a dinner she would be telling a story and turn it ever so slightly to be kinder and more loving.

I am so glad she was a part of my life.

She is with Michael, Dorothy and Ed.
May she rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon her.

  9. She radiated natural beauty inside and out. She was my fun, silly, smart cousin who showed bravery throughout her life. My love to Pete, Brian, Ricky and Myka who will miss her so much. She is surrounded with love in heaven now.

  11. Pete, Judy and family, the loss of Diane is huge as she was such a presence in your lives and the lives of those of us lucky enough to consider her a dear friend. When she came to the lake, she seemed to enjoy every aspect whether it be fishing or just visiting and relaxing. We will surely miss her here, but know that she is now with those she missed who went on before. God bless and comfort all of you.
