Hadler

In Loving Memory

Hadler, Arnold D.

October 16, 1932 - August 10, 2024

Asleep in Jesus Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Beloved husband of the late Elaine Hadler (nee Haertling); loving father of Keith (Debbie) Hadler and the late Kevin (surviving Diane) Hadler; adoring grandfather of Wesley (Brooke) Hadler, Heidi (Daniel) Lesinski, Katherine (Zac) Van Booven, William Hadler, Geoffrey Hadler, David (Abby) Hadler and Michelle (Matt) Briehan; cherished great-grandfather of Elaine, Avis, Daniel, Mila, Margo, Wyatt, Theo and Dean; dear brother of Elbert (Janet), Arlin (Sharon) and the late Eldor (Aileen), Harold (Elaine), Willard (Glenda) and Delmar “Doc” (Ruth) Hadler. Our dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Arnold was devoted to his faith, family and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Arnold grew up in Menfro, Missouri (Perry County) with his parents and six brothers. He married his wife, Elaine Haertling of Altenburg, Missouri in 1953 while on leave from the Army. After they were married they moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he was stationed. During his time with the Army, he ran the printing press for propaganda flyers. In February of 1955, he was honorably discharged from the Army and they moved back to Missouri to begin their life in St. Louis. In May of 1955, they welcomed their first son, Keith and four years later their son, Kevin. Arnold started his own printing business, Hadler Printing in 1967, where he worked with his sons until he retired in 1997.

During his life, Arnold enjoyed playing fast pitch baseball, coaching his sons’ baseball teams and never missed a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. He also loved his bowling league and annual fishing trips. When Arnold retired, he and Elaine moved to Bonne Terre, Missouri to live at their lake house in the Terre Du Lac community. They enjoyed many Fourth of July and Christmas gatherings with their family and friends at the lake. In his last decade of life, he lived at Meramec Bluffs Lutheran Senior Living Center. Arnold was a proud member of the Lutheran church where he attended weekly services, donated and volunteered his time. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

  6. My deepest sympathy on Arrnie’s passing . I remmember his love for basball and it was a wise decission on his part to marry my cousin Elaine Haertling who had 2 brothers who were very good baseball pitchers. I remember playing a game with Arrnie (1b) one Sunday afternoon against Jackson and Elaine’s brother Leonard pitched 15 inning ,striking out 20 , and allowing only 6 hits.
Arrnie and Elaine visited us in PA and we went to a Printing Press Museum in Lancaster and tour the Amish country side.

  7. So sorry for your loss. Uncle Arnie was my favorite uncle always really for a card game or play a joke on someone. I found out the hard way you don’t want to play dominos against him as he always wins. He will be missed here on earth but I’m glad he is with family in heaven.
