Dear father of Melissa (Brian) Cook, Jennifer (Brian) Jost and David (Stacey) Hempfling.  Dear grandfather of Chad, Tyler, Taylor, Blake, Paige, Brooke, Tanner and Summer.  Dear great grandfather of Brantley.  Dear brother of Larry (Theresa) Hempfling, Tom Hempfling and Karen (Brian) Augustine.  Dear uncle of Josh (Tyler) Hempfling.  Dear great uncle of Silas and Margot Hempfling.

SERVICES:  Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Road Affton, Missouri 63123) Friday, May 2, 1:00 p.m.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Mr. Hempfling served 6 years in the army national guard and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union and Mud Racers Association.  Contributions to Vietnam Veterans of America or to the veteran’s charity of your choice appreciated.  Visitation Thursday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

  1. One heck of a 1st baseman and leadoff man for the 1977 Furlan’s Tavern league Champion softball team. John was to be the fastest leadoff man in the league. Seemed always to be standing on 2nd base after stretching a single into a double. Extreme competitor and racing enthusiast and like most extreme competitors could not stand losing.
