Michael Richard Jennings, age 78, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on All Saints’ Day, November 1, 2026, surrounded in spirit by the love of the family who adored him.
He was the treasured husband of Jeainia (née Katke), with whom he shared more than 53 years of marriage; the cherished father of Stephanie (Jason) Balsman, Rebecca (Jarrett Dallas) Jennings, and Danielle (Daniel) Randolph; and the adored Papa of Taylor (Alex) Herwig, Zach (fiancee Lainee Rosenberg) Balsman, and Carter Balsman. He joyfully looked forward to welcoming his great-grandchild, due next summer.
Michael was the loving son of the late Robert D. Jennings and the late Gloria Jennings; the dearest brother of the late Robert D. Jennings, Jr., Mary Jane (James) Butler, the late Thomas (Angela Helmig) Jennings, Kathleen Fuchs, and Evelyn (James) Filla; and the dearest brother-in-law of Richard (Joyce) Katke, Paula (Bud) Eberhart, Mark (Linda) Katke, Kevin (Vicki) Katke, and James Katke. He was also a dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Michael is now reunited with his faithful four-legged companion and special buddy, Hunter, who brought him so much joy and unconditional love throughout the years.
Michael worked for the United States Postal Service for nearly forty years and was a member of NALC Branch 343. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.
At the heart of his life was his love for his family. He and Jeainia shared a devotion that carried them through life’s joys and challenges. During the last three years, she lovingly cared for him with tenderness, strength, and unwavering dedication, a beautiful reflection of the vows they had made and the life they had built together.
To his daughters, he was a deeply loved dad whose place in their hearts could never be filled. To his grandchildren, he was the very best Papa. His greatest legacy lives on in each of them, in the memories they treasure and the love they will always carry.
His family takes comfort in their faith and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Though their hearts ache in his absence, they are forever grateful for the blessing of being his family.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
