Nolte, John Lee

February 22, 1942 - January 28, 2025

John Lee Nolte, born on February 22, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Cuba, Missouri.

John graduated from Cleveland High School in St. Louis as part of the Class of 1960.  Following his education, he served his country with dedication in the Army and Army Reserves and later joined the Navy Reserves alongside his wife Florence.

A proud member of the St. Louis Ironworkers Local 396, John worked diligently in his trade until his retirement in 1991.  After retiring, John and his beloved wife, Florence Weil Abbott Nolte, moved to Cuba, Missouri, where they embraced the tranquility of country living on their retirement property.

John is survived by his wife Florence; daughters Lisa (Stan) Dippel and Rebecca (Virgil) Scott; grandchildren DJ (Rachel) Nolte, Brooke (Stephen) Gerger, Alyssa Beckering, Sydney (Andrew) Pawlowski, and Holden (Claire) Dippel; great-grandchildren Aiden and Brayden Nolte, Ben and Luke Gerger, and Jack and Henry Pawlowski; sister-in-law Sue Graul Nolte; nephew Dino (Pam) Nolte; and many friends in the Cuba area.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ludwig Conrad Nolte and Grace Mildred Dean Nolte; brothers Conrad Dean Nolte (Yvonne and Betty) and Frank William Nolte; sister and brother in law Sharon and Walter Rose; and nephews David and Darrin Nolte.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home – Affton Chapel, located at 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO. 63123, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 10:30 am.

John’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.  May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
