Mr. Reed was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 15, 1935 to the late Henry and Elsie Reed (Dietrich).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley (Willman), who he was happily married to for 64 years, and his daughter Vicki Cohen of Yorkville, Illinois.
Mr. Reed was a sheet metal worker in his early career, being a member of Local 36 from 1954 to 1971.
