Rowland, Gerald “Gil” Friday September 1, 2023. Loving husband of the late Shirley (nee Moore) and Mary Ann (nee Hammond). Loving father of Gerald Rowland Jr. Loving stepfather of Karen (Tony) Lanzarini and Donald Kreitner. Loving grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to all.

Gil was born to Marie Pryor and Christopher Rowland on June 11, 1928. He served in the Army during World War II and earned an Army Occupation Medal Japan and WW II Victory Medal. He had a law enforcement and security career for over 65 years. He was a retired police captian; received 7 merit awards, including Best Arrest of the Year, Life Member International Association Chief of Police and was a registered criminologist. He was also Security Director for American Express and Big River. Member of American Society of Industrial Security and Life Member of Fraternal of Elks Organization.

Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Friday September 8 at 8:30 am. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may made to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Visitation Thursday 4-8 pm.
