In Loving Memory

Smith, Ronald L.

Ronald L. Smith, age 70, of Fenton, Missouri, peacefully entered Heaven’s eternal rest at Mercy South (St. Anthony’s) surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2021.

Ron was born July 31, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Harry H. Smith (Prewitt) and Dorothy B. Smith (nee Haeckel) and was united in marriage to the love of his life, Diana L. Smith (nee Elliott) in July 1971. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Parkway High School, had a love for travel with his most memorable destination being at or near the ocean and he had a creative talent for music, art, and poetry.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and valued all things nature offered.  Above all, he valued the time he spent with family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Diana; their three daughters, Lisa (David) Harris of High Ridge, Trisa Chapman of Cedar Hill and Niki (Aaron) Adams of Arnold; six grandchildren, Victoria (Peter) Rybialek, David Harris II, Kellie (Ryan) James, Ryan & Jordynn Adams and Jessica (Jake Charles) Harris and two great-grandchildren, Henry Rybialek and Payton Ross.

Ron is also survived by his four siblings, Raymond (Sharon) Smith, Karen McKenzie, Robert Smith and Richard Smith; three in-laws, Joseph Elliott, Lora (Jeff) Taylor, and Mike Howard, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other dear family & friends.

Ron was proceeded in death by five in-laws: Joseph & Mary Elliott, Larry McKenzie, Ruth Smith, and Mary “Starr” Howard.

When Ron was not barbecuing and spending time with his family, he could be found in his home art studio oil painting, at his local hangouts playing Keno/lottery or playing his bass guitar with various local bands including his current band, “Full Circle”, with three of his best pals, Dick Harrell, Mike Fallert and Randy Huitt.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Missouri Department of Conservation in Ron’s name.
