In Loving Memory

Taylor, Jason Daniel

JASON TAYLOR
Jason Daniel “JT” Taylor, 44, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois. Born on March 7, 1980, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Jason lived a life shaped by dedication, craftsmanship, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

He graduated from Collinsville High School. He had a passion for design that led him to ITT Technical Institute, where he earned an associate degree in computer-aided drafting. It was in roofing and construction though he found his true calling. A former member of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers Local 112, Jason eventually forged his own path by establishing JT Roofing and Construction.
He found joy in collecting tools, building furniture, and riding his Harley motorcycle. Those who knew him will remember not only his skills but also the warmth and kindness he extended to others—a quiet strength that left a lasting imprint on every life he touched.

Jason is survived by his father, Russell Taylor; his wife, Elizabeth Taylor (née Wuest); his children, Gavin Taylor and Zoey Taylor; his stepchildren, William Thompson and Kylee Thompson; his brother Joshua (Colleen) Taylor; his grandmother Peggy Taylor; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Taylor; his sister, Angela Dalton; and his grandparents Clyde and Rosie Morris and Alvin Taylor.

A visitation will be held on February 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Oakville (6741 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, Missouri). A memorial service will follow at the same location from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A private graveside service for immediate family will take place on February 24, 2025, at St. John’s Cemetery in Collinsville, IL. Service of Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Road).
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Jason Taylor is requested to make a contribution to his children’s trust via Pastor Joshua Taylor or to the Washington Street Mission in Springfield, IL.

  1. People like Jason always leaves a good memory with you no matter how big or how small, you just don’t ever forget, here’s. Mine, One Saturday night we were at Debbie and Russ’es house, celebrating as we often did back then, for no particular reason. We’ll there were some celebrating more than me. My wife Cis thought Jason was so cute, he was maybe 7 or 8 maybe, Jason said to Cis which had long Cole black beautiful hair, something similar to I would like to cut your hair, She ask him do you have any scissors? I am not that good of a writer, but I think you can guess how it ended, thats right,, actually it didn’t turn out to bad.
