In Loving Memory

Boese, Raymond W. “Rick”

October 27, 1945 - September 19, 2025

Raymond “Rick” William Boese, beloved dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend, 79, of Hillsboro, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. Born on October 27, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, Rick attended St. George Catholic School and Affton High School. He dedicated his career to his trade as a skilled electrician for over 60 years, and was a proud member of IBEW Local #1, retiring from Guarantee Electric.

A quiet observer with a kind and easy going heart, Rick enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his stubborn spirit. A true movie fanatic, Rick loved all genres of movies, Sci-Fi and Westerns being amongst his favorites. He was always technologically inclined and had a passion for astronomy. He also enjoyed watching football, and loved his favorite foods, like a good Diet Coke and his homemade potato salad. Rick was an avid bowler who once reached a high score of 299. He also enjoyed his annual deer hunting trip with family. He passed on his love for the outdoors by raising his family on camping trips and dirt bike riding.

Rick is survived by his sister, Janet Stock, nee Boese (late Clarence); his daughters, Gail Harris, nee Boese (Don) and Julie Gross, nee Boese (Jim); and his son, Guy Boese. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Amanda Biggerstaff, nee Harris (Eric), Emily Mattler, Paige Gross, and his step-granddaughters, Megan and Jenna Gross, along with many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Theodore Boese; his mother, Mary Rose Boese, nee Tumbas; his sisters, Joanne Hindrichs, nee Boese and Mary Sanders, nee Boese; and his brothers-in-law, Victor Hindrichs, and David Hindrichs.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriners Hospital for Children are appreciated.
