Elizabeth Ann Cathers (née Wallace) was born on February 24, 1965 in Ottawa, IL to Lawrence Richard and Norma Jean (née Miller) Wallace. The youngest of five children, Beth was a year old when her family moved to Bonne Terre, Missouri for their Dad’s work and to be closer to family. She graduated from North County High School in 1983. She loved growing up as a country girl!
Beth met the love of her life on Memorial Day 1992. Charles “Chuck” Cathers and Beth were married on May 19, 2001. She is survived by her loving husband, and their children Andy Wallace, Brett (Taylor) Cathers, and Courtney Cathers (Christian). Those who adoringly called her Mimi are grandchildren Kayden, Carson, Dakota and Makenna Cathers. Mourning her loss are her sisters Karen (Bill) Neece, Angie (Bubby) McCombs, brothers Rich Wallace (Susan), and Terry Wallace, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews as well as numerous other family members and friends. Beth accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior at the 1999 St. Louis Billy Graham Crusade. Beth was preceded in death by her parents.
After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer Beth made her transition to Heaven on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Beth was a devoted preschool teacher for 35 plus years who loved her students dearly! Making and selling crafts was a big passion as well as hosting family BBQs and swim parties. She was a dedicated Girl Scout co-leader. As the founder of STL Fairy (a Facebook coupon group), Beth worked hard, enjoyed couponing, and developed a following of over 7,000 avid couponers. Travel made for many great memories; some favorite destinations included Sanibel Island, FL, Hawaii, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Visiting the beach and collecting seashells was another special pastime. It would be difficult to find bigger, die-hard Sammy Hagar fans than Chuck and Beth. Elizabeth enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues and her beloved Kansas City Chiefs! Especially close to her heart was her dog, Penny and her two cats, PJ and Princess.

So sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is when you lose a love one around Christmas time. I lost my father on December 20th 2002 and buried on my birthday December 23rd. The Lord is with you and will be with you in your time of need. Please don’t give up. You will see her in heaven one day.
We are very sorry to hear of Beth’s passing. She had an army of people surrounding her with love and prayers. We will continue to pray for peace for all those who mourn her loss.
