Vernon Edgar Kluge, age 93, born December 31, 1932, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026 at EverTrue Laclede Groves. Born to Edgar Max Kluge and Emilie Kraus in St Louis, MO he attended Holy Cross Lutheran School and St Louis University. On December 7, 1954, he married Jean Ruth Buettner and moved to Alaska for military service.
Vernon is survived by his three children, Emily (Robert) Danner, Robert (Leslie) Kluge and Laurie (Greg) Alexander. His surviving grandchildren are Matthew (Jackie) Danner, Rebecca (Adam) Gerry, Angela (Briana) Klein, Bradley (Brooksie) Kluge, Corinne (Cole) Duckworth, Alison Sharp, Sara (Jeff) Purple, Alexander Kluge, Nate(Kellie) Woodruff and Brett (Meredith) Woodruff. He is also survived by his cousin, Margaret Todd Hilmer, and his great-grandchildren.
Vernon was a Certified Public Accountant and owned his our firm. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens.
Vernon was very active in the mission and work of his congregations of Gloria Dei in Florida and Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens in St Louis. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing cards and family gatherings with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers and in lieu donations can be made to EverTru Lacede Groves Chapel. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in a private service.
