Karcher, Wayne C.

November 24, 1953 - April 23, 2026

Wayne Carl Karcher, entered eternal rest with his creator on April 23, 2026. He was 72.

Beloved husband of the Late Donna L. Karcher (nee Lincks); loving father of Andrew (Sara) Karcher, Daniel (Jamie) Karcher; cherished grandfather of Alice Karcher, Benjamin Karcher and Charles Karcher; dearest brother to Linda (George) Williamson (nee Karcher) and Karla (the Late Greg) Ralph (nee Karcher); uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Wayne was born to the late Dorothy G. Karcher (nee Lohse) and the late Carl H. Karcher in 1953. He grew up in the Mehlville area graduating from Mehlville High school in 1972. After high school, Wayne continued his education, first at St. Louis Community College – Forest Park, followed by completion of his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.

Following his formal education, Wayne spent over 45 years in manufacturing quality control. Over 40 years of that time was spent working at Allied Healthcare Products.

In his personal life Wayne spent extensive amounts of time volunteering with Scouting America (Formerly the Boy Scouts of America) where he led the district training staff, served on the Eagle Scout board of review, and shepherded over 20 young people to the rank of Eagle Scout during his time as assistant scoutmaster of Troop 181. For his dedicated service he was honored with the spark plug award, the district award of merit, and the silver beaver award.

In addition to his scouting involvement, Wayne was active with his Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and served for a time on the school board of United Community in Christ School.

In his free time, Wayne enjoyed woodworking, fishing, refurbishing hand tools, and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 4:00-8:30 PM at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123. Funeral services, also held at Kutis Affton Chapel, will occur Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Internment at Mount Hope cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Greater St. Louis Area Scouting (Formerly Greater St. Louis Area Council – Boy Scouts of America).
