In Loving Memory

Bischoff, Donald E.

March 21, 1935 - June 6, 2026

Donald E. Bischoff, 91, of St. Louis, asleep in Jesus Saturday,  June 6, 2026.

He was born March 21, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Elmer and Thelma (Moehle) Bischoff.

He graduated from  Southwest High School in 1953 and studied at Washington University in St. Louis and The Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, MO.  He graduated in 1958 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  While in college he was part of the ROTC program and, upon graduation, he was stationed at the Fort Leonard Wood U.S. Army training installation located in the Missouri Ozarks and completed his training at Fort Belvoir, VA.

After his military obligation, Donald began his career in St. Louis working at the Ralston-Purina Company where he met Betty L. Bachmann who he would then marry on June 4, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, MO.  Donald and Betty celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary just days prior to his passing on June 6.

The bulk of Donald’s career was spent with the Don H. Munger Company in Brentwood, MO where he engineered and sold solutions to apply control valves and gas pressure regulators in industrial plant environments.  He was well respected in the industry for being someone who was technically gifted and also good working with people.

Donald was a very talented man known for his wit and charm, always good for a laugh or two.  He had many hobbies but the two main activities were restoring antique clocks to like-new appearance and function and bread baking.  He baked nearly all of the bread that he and Betty consumed and his dinner rolls were legendary; a family favorite at every gathering.

Survivors include wife, Betty Bischoff (nee Bachmann), son, Dan (Renee) Bischoff, grandsons Christopher (Amanda) and Michael (Kirstie) Bischoff and great granddaughter, Sylvia Bischoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Thelma Bischoff, son, Gary Bischoff and grandson, Andrew “Drew” Bischoff.

  1. Dan your father was the best. I loved his wit and charm. I also lived the way he loved your Mom. I am so sorry.
