Bartoni, Dorothy M. (nee Griffith)

Dorothy entered into eternal life surrounded by her 7 children, Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. Beloved wife of the late William C. (Bill) Bartoni; dearest mother of Michael (late Peggy), Nick, Patty (Warren) Keith, late Rick, Susie (Joe) Vollmer, Annie (Mark) Stika and Theresa.

Grandmother of 10, Great Grandmother of 24 and Great-Great Grandmother of 1; dear aunt and cousin.

As a child, she graduated from Sacred Heart School in Morrilton, Ark;  moved to St. Louis and attended Rosati Kain High School, and then went onto Depaul Nursing School and obtained an RN.

Dorothy was a devoted member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  She walked to 6:30 mass daily for many, many years.

She enjoyed bowling with her friends, as well as monthly Senior Citizen luncheons, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society.

Mom loved to play cards with family and friends.  She was also known as the card lady, because she never forgot your birthday or anniversary, and always remembered the shut-ins.  Mom was the first to send you a get well note if you were sick.

She became known as the ‘Friday brownie lady’ at Milos, where you not only got a delicious brownie but more importantly a bite of her wisdom.

Our Mom was a simple person. Her faith was the guiding force for her life—a life committed to God.  She prayed her entire life that this same force would be instilled in her children and her extended family as well.

She was a devout Catholic. Be like Dorothy.

9:00 a.m. Mass, Monday, Sept. 28 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church

on The Hill. (no visitation)
