  7. Kirk you will be truly missed. I will always remember how you would stop and talk to my kids when turned I to the subdivision to go home in your sheriff’s car. You always made them smile. I also had the pleasure of working with you at St Clare when I was a nurse in the ER. You always took the time to take care of us. I will never forget your smile. RIP. You are a true hero

  9. Dear Kirk’s family.
My family is rocked to the core with this news. Kirk was such a part of us when we were young and growing up on Clairmont Drive in North County. Kirk, Ronnie, George and Tom were four amigos and almost inseparable until everyone grew up. I know Ronnie and Tom will be waiting at heaven’s gate, right beside his mother “Babe”. Kirk will be missed – he was just an all around great guy. My condolence to you, his family and all of the many friends he has amassed.

  11. I had the privilege to work with and dispatch for Kirk and his squad at JeffCo in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I always enjoy working with him because I knew his men were professionals. RIP Kirk.

I meet Kirk in the 80’s, he was even in my wedding in 1992. I have a lot of memories of our time we spent with each other. I know how much his family meant to him. It still a shock on how he passed. I am sorry I will not be able to attend his wake or his funeral. I will be attending another wake on Monday in Farmington Mo. and a Doctor appointment on Tuesday I could not reschedule. Know you all are in my thoughts and prayers at this most diffcult time. My deepest sympathy to you all. Rest in Peace Kirk. You did a lot of amazing things for others. You will truly be missed by so many people.

  23. I knew Kirk since Junior High (Central). He could funny or serious. Kirk was genuinely a kind person and never had enemies. He was a man of character, and the world has suffered the loss of a great humanitarian. His kindness knew no limits and his humility was inspiring to everyone that knew him. A friend, a husband, a father, a grandfather … a soldier and veteran, a public servant … Diana, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you say farewell to the love of your life.

  25. To the Ainley Family,
I met Kirk at St. Clare Hospital. I managed the Pastoral Care team for 8 years and Kirk was always kind and supportive of our chaplains! We made him a movie star before he retired. Kirk allowed us to record him on video talking about how he lived out and supported the Mission of SSM Health. He did a heart felt speech and it moved our leaders as they watched the presentation! What a gift he was to so many, and in so many ways! May God’s peace be with all his family and friends as we celebrate his life and mourn our loss. Know that God loves You!
