  2. Jim was a mentor and good friend. I learned a lot from him when I started working at DPA 20yrs ago. He use to check my worksheets and hand them back with sticky notes marking where a correction was needed. I used to tease him he had to use a whole pad of sticky notes on mine. He was so thorough in everything he did, but it was always done correctly and that made an impact on me and my work. I loved talking to him about hunting and fishing. Our last text message was me sending him a picture of the deer I had just harvested. I’m sorry he passed before he was able to get his first turkey. He always joked about how those buggers evaded him. He was so proud of all his family. Especially his grandkids. I loved hearing him talk about them and going to visit them. He enjoyed telling me about he and Jan going to the Lake House, and also the trips they took. Jim knew how to live life, and I am thankful to have been a part of his and him mine. My prayers are with his family!!!

  14. I played a lot of volleyball in my youth and college, and Mr. Allgire was my very first volleyball coach. I have such fond memories of those middle school practices and games at OLP! My prayers are with Becca, a former classmate of mine, and the rest of the Allgire family. May God give you peace during this difficult time.

  15. Jim was such a large part of the success of the FDA laboratory in St. Louis including all of his input during the building of the new laboratory. He wore so many hats during his years at the Agency and was always a calming presence during any discussion. He will be missed by all, and my thoughts are with his family.

  16. Our whole family mourns the loss of our longtime friend, Jim. The family friendship started more than 40 years ago when Jan and my wife Linda became close friends while working together as ER nurses. Jim was always a great friend and he will be missed.
I remember our family game nights that became a tradition on New Years Day. Jim and Jan along with Becca and Tim would make the long drive to North County, to play games and get rid of leftover holiday food. Jim was a wonderful partner in games as he rarely lost.
I was in public relations and luckily Jim was always available to answer any science question when the school Science Fairs came around. He was affectionally known as “Mr. Wizard” since he was never at a loss for answers.
The kids grew up and we moved from St. Louis, but it was always a treat when Jim and Jan came to visit wherever we were. Jim was always so curious about the city we lived in and usually taught me things that I had not yet learned.
Jim was a kind man, a good friend and one who loved his family intensely. Jan, please know that you and the entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.
    Love, John and Linda Williamson
