In Loving Memory

Appel, George A.

Passed away on the morning of 11-3-24 after a rough couple of months of illnesses and recovery.  He leaves behind sons and daughter-in-laws Jason and Shelley (Jones) and Todd and Gail (Rimkus).  He leaves behind grandchildren Makayla Klesing and her husband Sebastian, Tyler and Madison.  He leaves behind great granddaughter Violet.  

He leaves behind his brother Eugene Appel (Jacqueline) and sister Karen Markl (Karl), nephews James, William, Mathew and nieces Mary and Debi and their respective families.  Former spouses Judith Appel and Pamela Miles.  He leaves behind many friends as well.  He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Rita Appel.  

He ran a construction and real estate business for 50+ years and built two family homes as well as several custom homes for customers, family and friends.  He enjoyed restoring and maintaining classic cars and later in life owned two 1956 Packards and an International Harvester Scout.  He grew up in Oakville and lived in the surrounding area. In lieu of flowers please donate to Parkinsons Research.

Services; Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Sat. 11/9 from 12PM until service at 4PM. Services will conclude at funeral home.

  2. Condolences your way. I always looked forward to your ‘ dads posts on Facebook. His jovial attitude always made me laugh. He wasn’t happy unless he was working on something. He loved to keep busy.

  5. I knew George for more than 50 years. He was a gentleman in all ways. After having him work on my house, I never allowed anyone else to do the work. He was not just a “jack of all trades,” he was a “master of many.” I will miss my friend but I believe my late wife, Judi, was at the gates waiting to welcome him. My sympathies to all his family.

  10. Karen, sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your dad, Ervin, and rabbit hunting with him and Karl. I live in Hermann, Mo. and a street is called Appel -Fricke. Be praying for you and the family.
